Eye Glass cases

Someone wrote me and asked me to make them 4 eyeglass cases each with a separate theme, one to go with her Sparkybag, one for the night table reading glasses, one for her husband and one for her daughter who loves the beach. Initially I said I wasn’t sure, she asked again, I said “maybe”. The third time I gave in and I put it off for as long as possible. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to do it, I think I am always a bit anxious about trying something new. I do get bored doing the same thing again and again, and a part of me loves new ideas and figuring out how to make something new, but there is the other part of me too, that is afraid to get started.

So It was Friday and I promised the eyeglass cases by the end of the week (intentionally giving myself a deadline) so there was nothing for me to do but begin. Once I did, I found they were really fun to make. I guess like mini handbags. They were quick and fun to design and in a few hours I had these great little functional pieces of art.

  1. Someday I hope you’ll feel like trying Goddess saddle pads.

Did you use batik fabric for that blue eye glasses case? They look great. I like how they contrast with the rough table top.

  2. These are so adorable. I like that you showed the fronts and the backs in the picture. They look perfect.
