Stand in Your Truth

It’s true, she does have that Cindy-Lou-Who, cute, modest and vulnerable look, but she’s also has a bit of “I’m so pretty” (as you all picked up on).  But she’s  honest about it, all of it.   She is what she is and isn’t afraid to be it.

I woke up with so many words in my head this morning and Stand in you truth were the only ones that stuck.  I knew who  they belonged to.

  1. YES!

I say that whenever I see another of your Goddess creations, but this time I just had to say it to you, out loud and everything. Keep ’em coming.

  2. She’s Beautiful Maria! And i absolutely LOVE my Goddesses that are displayed in my kitchen now. I can feel all the love you put into them. Thank you so much…love, mare

  3. “Stand in you truth” = I’ll remember that looking in the mirror each morning and accept my “tentacles”. They are kind of rebellious as you said and maybe that is what I should be … just a bit

  4. Maria, I think it is wonderful that you have found a voice for your talents, interests, and time. You sound like a very positive person who would be fun to be with and meet. I aidmire someone who takes second hand findings and creates somethng useful out of them.

But I am going to tell you, as someone who sews, and thinks outside the box, that I find your quilts unsettling, and not attractive.(yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder). The colors, shapes, and arrangements present in so many directions that there seems to lack unity and congruency. More puzzling than interesting. I can’t imagine showcasing them on a bed, a wall, or as a throw. They come across as utilitarian rather than artistic or meaningful.I have to believe that inside of you there is a creative seed that is developing.
I wish you much success and happiness in all areas of your life.

    1. Thanks for your honesty Susan, It’s true about beauty and all. And I agree that my quilts can be puzzling, but they are the way I see and make sense to me. Not for everyone. Thanks again for taking the time to express your thoughts.

  5. Maria,
I think you are onto something with the Everyday Goddess! She is in everyone of us…
Thanks for bringing her out to play!
