Yesterday I was making potholders for Kim to assemble while I’m on the Book Tour with Jon next week. I wanted to make one more and just started stitching the lamp when these words came to me. I haven’t done a potholder like this before. I don’t know if it will happen again. But I couldn’t stop myself. The words kept nagging at me. So I let them come, and this is what happened.
the night star lives outside my window
there’s a dog in my bed and a cat on the fence
the moon is bright
and the tea is hot
and love hold my heart
