Jon came out of surgery around 5:30.  It all went as planned and he is doing well.  He’s already healing.

  1. Having had the opportunity a few times to wait in hospitals, the second sketch made me cry. The clock being plugged into not the wall, man’s design for power, but the heart line, connected to the moon…beautiful Maria. Unbelievably powerful. Thank you!
Healing prayers for Jon and laughter and light for you~

  2. Hope you’ll get some rest tonight, Maria.

Jon’s in fine hands right now with plenty of help. You need to take care of you.

Thank you so much for the update.

  3. I know I am not alone when I say that I have been checking your blog all day to get some news on Jon’s surgery. I have been thinking of you both. I know how difficult it is to wait to hear how a loved one is doing. I hope that the day was not too unbearable for you Maria. Take care!

  4. Wonderful news!!! He’ll be back on the farm before you know it, bet the animals will be glad to see him back! (and you)….

  5. Yesterday, I checked your website frequently, waiting for news of Jon’s operation. As someone has said in a previous posting, who has been through this with her husband, there will be days of pain and pain medication delusions, a reality that I’m not familiar with, thankfully, as yet. Thank you Maria, for posting this news. And when you have time later on, I’d love to hear you describe your drawings, the heart that appears to be weeping, or maybe just decorative in itself, the bedside table or table that figures so prominently, the trees, which also figure prominently in your drawings, one day, please give your POV on your drawings…they are charming and as you know, I have two of them which I appreciate everyday in our home.

  6. Dear Maria,

WOW! I can see fluid movement in these sketches – were you conscious of what you were drawing at the time? These are fantastic!

My husband and I wish you and Jon a peaceful recovery!

    Sincerely,
    Sandra

  7. These are all beautiful. I love the third one. It makes me think of the healing part. All three have such powerful symbols of love.

  8. Maria, why is it always 9:00 on the waiting room clock. Your hope and joy are so evident in your drawings. and the fear and desolation is almost painful to see in the early ones.

  9. Dear Maria, Your drawings are so full of meaning and emotion. Thank God that Jon is healing already. We will continue to believe God for that favor on Jon’s life. You are both such an inspiration to me, to all of us. Annie

  10. So good to hear the good, good news. My husband, in his 50’s and my uncle in his 70’s both had bypass and they are doing very well. It is amazing how quickly a heart patient recovers, and feels so much healthier after all this is done. Prayers for you Maria as caretaker, wife, love, and of course prayers for Jon.

  11. I love your sketches, especially
Waiting Room II”..I am so glad Jon is OK and got thru surgery with flying colours! Hope to hear from you soon!
    Much Love
    Chris
