Jon Sings to Red

jon singing to red

I got this rare picture of Jon singing to Red this morning.  Not that it’s rare that he sings to Red, (he sings to Lenore too) but it’s rare that I got a picture.   Jon sings,  “Hold my hand and I’ll take you there.  There’s a place for us, a time and place for us...”  as Red looks at him adoringly.

  1. I was having a sort of “out of balance” morning, & seeing this cute picture of Jon & Red just made me smile & feel good inside!! Thanks for sharing. Mary Ann

  2. What an absolutely fabulous photo, Maria. I think that today you may well have trumped Jon’s photos of the day. Just loved it. Thanks for sharing. Althea

  3. Maria,

This photo is too precious. As a child I danced and sang to the music of West Side Story in our living room where I could see my reflection in the picture window. I love this song.

    Thank you.

  4. I think I emailed you yesterday about how fabulous this photo is. Each day that I go to my computer and see it, a smile crosses my face.
I’m sitting here with my Sheltie, Henry (who frequently reminds me of Jon’s Border Collie, Orson, who passed away). I think I’ll show this to Henry and see what he thinks. He may wonder why I don’t sing to him more often; I do that on walks.
Your photography gets better every day; the mark of a true artist. Thank you so much for sharing.
    Have a great day.

  5. Great photo ! I wonder what is going through Red’s mind! Something like “those stupid humans, how long do I have to put up with this!”

  6. Am I the only one that sees pain on Red’s face? “Stop Daddy, PULEEEZE stop Daddy! You are embarrassing men Daddeeeeee. Nooooooooo!”

  7. You guys are so cool. This picture is awesome. I used to dislike adjectives like cool and awesome, but they are global and capture the “possibility” that the lifestyle, the song, and the gaze could mean so much more than what we can see. Thank you for sharing parts of your life, your art and your animals with us.

I start my day with your blogs and “live a vicarious farm life”.

    Kathy P.
