A New Wall Hanging On An Old Quilt

I started this piece weeks ago.  It was actually the day after  I heard that our friend, Ed Gulley had inoperable brain tumors.  My reaction to the news, creatively,  was to draw.  Drawing has always been therapeutic for me.

So I found an old quilt that someone sent me and cut it in half.  Then I started drawing.  I haven’t worked on it in a while, all the drawing I did in a few days, then I put it aside.

Today I took it out again.

I trimmed the sides and bottom and made a sleeve on the top to hang it from.

Then, instead of adding more, I started to take some of the quilt away.

I used my seam ripper to remove some of the quilting, leaving some pieces of it in place.  And rearranging some too.

This is what it looked like when I left my studio this evening.  I have no idea what will happen next.
