I started out by giving Rita a pink and red arch.
Inspired by a Tibetan painting of Jnanatapa C.1350, I surrounded the arch by squares of more red and pink. I appliqued the arch and fabric immediately around it (reminisent of stained glass) leaving the edges of the fabric unfinished, creating a soft edge.
Then I pieced it all together…
Tomorrow I’ll start to back and tack it.
Maria,
I love the arch and the color choices surrounding it. I can feel your excitement with your new machine and all the possibilites it brings.

I love the way you showed and talked about how this quilt is developing Maria…LOVE the arch.
I guess the arch is a hit, I’ve always had a thing about arches. They are somehow very powerful.
This is delightful. I love it’s message. Best to you and Frieda! Cindy
Dear Maria, What a beautiful quilt. Love the stained glass effect with the colors and the arch. Interesting to see the process of how you laid it out. Best wishes, Deb Naydan
