Making “Bye”

I started out by giving Rita a pink and red arch.

Inspired by a  Tibetan painting of Jnanatapa C.1350, I surrounded the arch by squares of more red and pink.  I appliqued  the arch and fabric immediately around it (reminisent of stained glass) leaving the edges of the fabric unfinished, creating a soft edge.

Then I pieced it all together…

Tomorrow I’ll start to back and tack it.

  1. Dear Maria, What a beautiful quilt. Love the stained glass effect with the colors and the arch. Interesting to see the process of how you laid it out. Best wishes, Deb Naydan
