Bye at the Pember Library

I tied the last yarn in “BYE” this evening.  I’ll be showing and selling it at the Pember Library in Granville NY on April 1st at the First Friday Exhibit.  If it’s anything like last months exhibit it’s likely to be fun.  Not the traditional Gallery, curator Bo Young has to be creative exhibiting art at the Pember Library.  I think my quilts will be hanging in the  archways and old library tables are used to display work.

In March there were about 100 people there and it felt more like a party than an art opening.    The other 2 artists are a duck decoy carver and someone who ties flies for fly fishing and I’ve heard that Senator Betty Little is the guest bartender.  I’m not sure how my quilts fit into the exhibit, but again, It’s just not a traditional show.   If you’re in the neighborhood come by the opening is from 7-9pm

  1. Rita rocks!! Thanks for the close-up.
What wonderful texture you create with a sewing machine, Maria. I remain fascinated by your talents and perception.

  2. Congrats on the last stitch!! What a good feeling. I tend to have many projects started at a time and finishing is my biggest challenge. I love piecing the quilt, but drag my feet with finishing. “Bye” turned out just beautiful! Good luck and have fun at the show!!
