From the Everyday to Art

With a push from Jon, help from Sara, and Izzy’s support, I bought a digital frame to show my Visual Poems on.  I’ll be showing them in the Pig Barn Gallery  on Bedlam Farm in our first exhibit in June.  We’re having our first meeting in the beginning of April.

Soon I’ll start cleaning out he barn and figuring out the lighting.  The working title for the show is From the Everyday to Art, making the mundane and everyday into art. There are 5 artists:   Jack Metzger,  found art sculpture and photos, Serena Kovalosky, Gourd art, Diane Swanson, computer part paintings, Jon,  photos and notecards and my quilts and/or potholders and now video.  I am as excited as I am nervous about it all.

Check out my latest visual poem  “Bird Dream” on facebook.

  1. Wow, Maria your exhibit you’re going to have is so wabi-sabi. But then your art is like that. Don’t worry, it’s a good thing.

Don’t be nervous, we’re all rooting for you!

  2. Thank God for Izzy’s support!
It sounds like you’re going to be strait out with all your projects. I hope you remember to take some “me time” too.
Excitement, anxiety,it’s all part of it isn’t it? Have fun!, Cindy

  3. Can’t wait for the Pig Barn Gallery to open so we have an excuse to come north this summer. Good luck with everything.
