The Last Pig Barn Gallery Art Show

Me and Diane setting up for the invitation photo shoot

Yesterday Diane came to the farm and helped  me set up a photo for the invitation for the last show at the Pig Barn Gallery.  Diane and I hadn’t seen each other for a while, so we had a lot to catch up on besides all the things we needed to figure out for the show.   Jon, of course was taking the photos and I won’t say he was grumpy, but he was a little short.  He’s the first one to complain about the Prima donna artist, yet there he was getting annoyed when the art or chickens weren’t placed just so.  And as soon as Diane and I got a good conversation going he needed something moved or adjusted.  Well, I guess I shouldn’t complain, if I was in my studio working and he and a friend came in and started talking, I’d be short too.  And he did take some great photos. 80 in all.  Below is the one we chose for the Invitation:

The last art show is called “Anointing The Goddess”  It will be Saturday June 23rd and Sunday June 24th from 11am-4pm.  The artist reception will be on Saturday from 1-3pm.

There are six artists in the show, Me and Jon (we always get to be in the shows because it’s our gallery)  Kim Gifford,( a Pug lover who often uses them in her photo collages )  Diane Swanson, (whose help I am grateful for, and whose landscapes show the earth as goddess)  Donna Wynbrandt, (a visionary artist her paintings of women inspire hope and peace)  and Joyce Zimmerman ( whose 3D collages, set in plastic food containers, speak to the mythical goddess) .

Over the next weeks I’ll be writing about the artists and showing photos of their work.  I’ll have a video from the Artists Lunch the first week in June (Jon volunteered to cook).  I’ll be writing about all the other things going on at the show and places to go in the area and places to stay if you’re coming in from out of town.

I’m also going to be giving away a few  free packs of  Jon Katz notecards each week for the next 4 weeks before the show.  So keep and eye out for my notecard contests.

  1. This blog had me snickering. 🙂 The photo is lovely. I see Fran and sweet Izzy. Too bad Frieda couldn’t have been lurking somewhere.
