I’m too caught up in making this quilt to write about it right now. But I’m also excited about making it and wanted to share what I’ve done so far with you. This is a bunch of Japanese Shibori fabric sent to me by Sally, one of my on-line friends. (thank you Sally)
Here’s what I’ve designed, now I’m going to start sewing it all together.
This is going to be great – love it!
Whoa, these are fabulous pieces. The muted color palette is soothing, and the complementary colors too. Then the bright flowers on black give a little zing. Great fabric. Great work!
Maria,
What an amazing quilt! It has so much depth and energy emanating from it. I love the patterns and colors.Really wonderful!

Just let the art flow and it will wash you with joy 🙂
I am so happy that you have fabric that makes you sing and dance. This will be a wonderful quilt! So many beautiful patterns. Very inviting!
Maria, this is so beautiful. Also, your studio is looking mighty fine. How lucky you are to have such a wonderful space to create.

I like it very much, beautiful
with kind greetings, Marieke Bootsma from the Netherlands
lovely Fabric…you will have fun creating with it!
I love the Japanese fabrics. It is unique and joyful. Always make time in between what you have to do (your orders and commitments) for what your heart wants to do. There must be joy in each day or we will wilt. Also, I love your new studio. It looks so warm and cozy – a great place to spend your day doing what you love to do.
You are so right Cheri. I keep learning that again and again. Maybe someday I’ll really get it.
I so want that! Will it be available to buy when you are finished? I’m a huge Japanophile. I love all the patterns and how they are so different but mix together beautifully.
Sorry Carrie, it’s already sold, but thanks!
Being of Japanese ancestry on my moms side I have such gratitude for the way you have honored this fabric with your creativie and unique perspective. It is wondrous and full of joy! Thank you!
I love this!! And love the fabric!! I was on Jon’s blog and he said that you were a bit overwhelmed…I have been as well!! Hannah reminds me that my “business” can go at my speed, but sometimes I am frustrated as my speed isn’t fast enough for me…like I need double days to do what I want to do!!…I am glad that you took time to do this. It is wonderful!!jane
Thats what I keep thinking Jane, I can only do my work so fast. But I seem to be the only one pushing me.
Maria,
It is absolutely beautiful…..I wish you artistic peace and can feel your smile peace Barbara
