I’m never sure if I think sunflowers are more beautiful when they are alive, roots sucking nourishment from the earth, their big faces following the sun or when they die. Becoming seeds for more flowers or food for birds, the yellow petals gathering themselves into a deep rich orange.

What a lovely still life. The sunflower is a beauty. I’m still nursing my Valentine flowers and two orchids have opened!
