Mary Kellogg will be at the Bedlam Farm Open House reading some of her new unpublished poems and some of her old poems. She started publishing her poetry when she was 79 years old and at 83 she’s still writing. Her books will be for sale at the Open House tomorrow. Next week I’ll be offering them on my website too, for anyone who couldn’t come to the show or didn’t get one at the last Open House when they sold out.
Here’s a video of Mary reading her poem Butter Wrapping at one of the first shows at the Pig Barn Gallery on Old Bedlam Farm.
I could feel the paper, wrapping the butter. Sweet memory shared. Thank you !
I really enjoyed her reading on Sunday. I don’t usually like poetry, but I liked how her’s kind of tells a story. I will have to buy her books.
Yes Cathy, Mary’s poems are very accessible.
