Given And Received In Love

I LOVE YOU pillow

I just finished Pat’s 35th Wedding Anniversary Pillow called “I LOVE YOU”.  The title comes from the words on the red, white and blue ribbon with the hearts on it, rays coming from the rising sun.  I made some slight changes to the pillow after posting the picture of it on my blog last night.  Something called me back to it and I added the festive flowers around the sun in the sky and replaced the daisy between the ducks with black-eyed susans.   I also put a piece of lace behind them and floated some flowers above their heads.

When I saw it this morning I knew it was just right.   I’ll put it in the mail tomorrow, so Pat gets it in time for her Anniversary.  It’s a wonderful thing to be able to make something that will be given and received with so much love.

  1. Your work just keeps getting better and better. Wish there was more than one pillow. Glad I got the potholders when I did. Enjoy watching you evolve into the artist our are now.

  2. Maria, I’m thrilled! It is PERFECT and I can’t wait to see Ken’s face when he opens the package and see this. How can I ever thank you? You have come so far as an artist AND as a human being and should be so very proud of yourself, your work (art and humanity) and your life. Thank you! I look forward to reading more of your blog and seeing more of your art – you are an inspiration to us all.
