Lenore runs excitedly out of the back door, the cats jump off the rockers, the chickens are on alert. They’re not running from Lenore, Minnie actually rubs up against her nose. They know it’s feeding time. Eventually the cats make their way to the barn, and the chickens follow until I distract them with something better than cat food. Lenore makes her way to the apple tree. There are plenty of fallen apples to keep her busy until Jon or I yell at her to “drop it!”, which she reluctantly does.
