When Mary Ann asked me what I eat for breakfast, I told her I’d eat whatever she made. “Good” she said, “I like three kinds of meat for breakfast”. Eggs, grits with cheese, two types of sausage, bacon and toast (the toast didn’t fit on the plate, messed with the design). It was a delicious as it is beautiful.
I hope that’s Conecuh Sausage! And I hope even more that your time in Gee’s Bend has been the experience of a lifetime!
I’m not sure Mary, I’ll have to ask Mary Ann. And it was an experience of a lifetime.
I’m wondering what’s on those grits–is that gravy or cheese? I make garlic cheese grits as requested on special occasions by my son! They are in a casserole with beaten eggs, grated cheese, and garlic sautéed in butter. Sometimes we have grits for breakfast, but as a hot cereal with a bit of butter, sugar and milk.
It’s cheese Victoria, the first time I had it. Yours sound wonderful too.
That breakfast looks delicious! I have never had grits with cheese, I will have to try that.
Love her plate pattern.
