“Noticing how I am feeling in the moment, without having a subject or anything in mind, I like to begin expressing my creativity spontaneously. Trusting an inner sense of direction supports taking risks. Marks, lines, or swaths of color unfold, lead by curiosity and wonder. Images often emerge, change, and realign until finding clarity in details.” Carol Bollinger Green
I found Carol’s statement about how she makes her work as beautiful as her drawings. This colored pencil on paper drawing is so fluid. I feel like I’m looking at a strange plant life deep beneath the ocean, flowing to the currents of water. There’s so much movement and grace and depth. It’s soft and powerful at the same time.
I’ll be showing and selling Carol’s drawings at my School House Gallery this weekend at the Bedlam Farm Open House, this weekend. Below is another of Carol’s drawings that will be in the show.
