On Holiday Time

Minnie spent the night in the house for the first time since last winter.   But in the morning she was out the door and back in the barn.

Such strange days these have been since the day before Christmas and now the week before New Years.  There’s a quiet that make the world seem like everything has slowed down.  A lull to the days.  And I’m not fighting it.  Jon and I talked about taking the week off, but that isn’t working.    So we’re just taking it easier.

After spending two full days, painting the bathroom,  and without a walk, I needed to get out of my head and back into my body and heart.  So Fate and I took a long walk in the snow and ice covered woods which brought me back to myself in a way that nothing else does.

The rest of the day I spent putting the backing on my Longest Night quilt.   At the rate I’m going it will probably take me the rest of the week just to tack it.  But Fran, who bought it is in no hurry.  Maybe she’s on holiday time too.

  2. Well, after reading this, I feel a little bit better about holiday time. I’m feeling it too and it’s hard for me to go with the flow.
