Maybe making Roger’s Quilt got me to thinking about collaborating.   Which made me think of  Bertha’s quilt.

Holly sent me the quilt a while back and I just recently made a couple of potholders for her from it.   Bertha was a good friend of Holly’s and she made the quilt about 50 years ago.  That means the fabric was from the 1960’s.

The quilt is made up of mostly four inch squares and a few of them had kitchen stuff on them. Things like tea cups and rolling pins and cheese graters.  After using a couple to make Holly’s potholder, I couldn’t stop thinking of them.

So,  today I got out the quilt and cut it up.  I cut out all the squares with the kitchen stuff on them and then cut out some of the other squares that I thought worked well with them.  I added some solid red and yellow from my stash and a couple of other vintage pieces also from my stash.

I had just enough fabric to make six potholders. And they are sold out except for the Domino Potholder.   I still have to assemble them, but if you see one you like, just let me know.  You can email me at [email protected].   I should have them all done by next week.  They’re $15 each + $5 shipping for 1-2 and $7 shipping for 3 or more.  And I take checks or can email you a paypal invoice.

There were also two squares with domino’s on them, that I couldn’t resist.  So this one’s for sale too.

  1. Hello Maria. I would love to buy two of them for my mother-in-law. I especially like the 2 on the left if they are still available. You can email me an invoice, and I can send you the payment through PayPal. Thank you!
