Working On Two Quilts At The Same Time

I did something I’ve never done before today.  While I was sewing the back  on and tacking my “Red” quilt I started working on another quilt.

When I was making potholders last week, I put together three pieces of fabric that were too big to be a potholder.   But they looked so good together I thought they’d be the start of my next quilt.  Then I got sidetracked and decided to  finish up the two quilts I had already designed.   So I put the pieces aside.

But this morning as I was sewing the backing together for “Red”, out of the corner of my eye I saw the square of fabrics and knew what I wanted to do next.

And this is how the day went.

When I got stuck on the quilt I was designing, I’d go back to sewing and tacking “Red” until I got an idea for what needed to happen next on the new quilt.

I didn’t finish either one today, but they’re both getting there….

I had the quilt laid out in the only empty spot on my floor while I was working on backing "Red".
