It came to me again in the dark. I saw the picture frame from a piece of fabric I’ve had for so long. I used some of it on my Solstice quilt. Drapes from the 1950’s or 60’s. But I saw the picture frame hanging just above the kitchen and below the flying checkered birds on my latest wall hanging.
The frame was empty, but when I got into my studio this morning I knew my pink boots wanted to fill it.
Those boots are a part of my visual vocabulary. I started drawing them years ago in red and pink. My personal symbol of feminine strength. I’ve been wearing my own version of those red boots since High School. They’re as much a part of my life as my art.
And now they showed up once again.
Hi Maria, Is this quilt sold? Price? xoxoxox
hey Cindy, It’s a big one. It’s about 5 feet square and I’m selling it for $500 + shipping. Thank you for your wonderful compliment.
Holy carp! This just keeps getting better. I was wondering how big this wall hanging is? I really love the symbolism & could picture it hanging in our house. (I just rearranged & have a lot more wall space. 🙂
What a great response! Thank you! it’s about 5 feet square and I’ll be selling it for $500 + shipping. Thanks for asking.
I await the day when Doc Martens’ vegan line has pink or red boots…that is what your top pic reminded me. And when they do come out, it will be my splurge.
I am so looking forward to your trip to India! I thought I had read (and now I can’t find it…) that you would be posting to a specific place. Or am I not remembering that correctly? Hope you are able to post–somewhere. I will enjoy hearing about your experiences.
Oh I like that Elle! And I will be posting here on my blog. I’ll also be posting my blog on my Indiegogo. And I’m sure to post some pics on facebook. Thanks for asking! I can’t wait to write about it.
