That yellow. Smudged on the stone path out the back door. It called out to me, impossible to ignore.
It’s the pollen from the catkin buds on our giant old birch tree. The buds fell from the tree onto the stone path. Someone probably stepped on them and smudged the pollen on the stones.
I wanted to capture it somehow. Scrape it up and use it in my art. I might still yet, but for now, it’s just an idea. For now it’s yellow.
