Ellen’s First Quilt All Done

I finished tacking Ellen’s first quilt today.

Here’s a picture of the back of it while I was working on it.  I think it really shows the difference between the highloft wool batting compared to the thin cotton batting I usually use.  This has a lot more texture and depth.

I often see my quilt as paintings, so the flatness works for me in that way.  This quilt feel more sculptural to me.  I love the squares the ties create and looking at the shadows and light of the fabric.

  1. These quilts are magnificent….so much work in them and so much thought. A real treasure for someone to receive as a gift. I wish I could find a camera that would work the way your iPhone does!
