I don’t remember the name of the holiday, but I do remember reading about a certain day where people would put flowers on their wells, blessing and thanking them for the water.
I thought of it today, as I lifted the handle on the water pump in the barn, and waited for the water to flow. For a moment I thought it wouldn’t come, but then it did, in full force.
With all the cold weather we’ve been having I wouldn’t be surprised if the lines froze as they did a couple of years ago.
So today, when the water fell into the bucket I thought to take a video of it, as a way of honoring our well and the unfrozed pipes the water is still flowing through.
I like central heat, I love the internet. But running water is my favorite modern convenience.
You get it Mary Jean!
