Wood stoves are messy and the dying embers that sometimes make their way onto our tile hearth, make perfect pieces of charcoal for drawing.
We added the Mexican tiles when we put the wood stove in the fireplace, but the older reddish tiles are perfect for drawing on.
The cold wood embers on the tiles, feel like chalk on slate. Soft and silky, I draw something different in each tile until the ember is worn away.
And every time I sweep the hearth, I wipe the drawings away, so I can make more.
Like a sand mandala.
Yes!
Maria, I love how you create art everywhere. Its because of how you “see”. I admire it.
I think it’s all there for the seeing Lois. Thanks
