No more Hay. We opened up the side pasture this afternoon and let the animals graze.
They’ve been grazing in the back pasture, but the grass there isn’t good enough to feed them all.
But today, because of the rain and warm days we’ve been having the grass is long enough so we won’t have to feed the animals hay till the fall.
It’s always a beautiful thing to see the first time the donkeys and sheep get to graze on spring grass. They gobble it up, moving from one place to another to get the sweetest greens.
I thought how much it was like me and Jon going to our favorite ice cream stand today.
It also means we can leave the pasture gate open tonight and sleep a little later on the weekends.
Each season has its perks and new grass is one of springs.
