Sara Davis’ Ceramics At The Bedlam Farm Open House

By Sara Davis

I don’t know Sara Davis very well, mostly from seeing her at the Cambridge Farmers Market and through her ceramics.

I couldn’t resist the mug I bought a while back with the phases of the moon on it.  And after Jon got his tea cup with the drawing of the bee on it, I knew I wanted to have her work in the Bedlam Farm Open House.

So I asked Sara if she could tell me something about herself and her work.  This is what she sent me….

“I’ve been doing ceramics for about 5 years. Pottery settles seamlessly into the nooks and crannies of my very season-oriented life. Throughout the year I am out working in the flower fields, or crafting fresh evergreen holiday wreaths, or tromping around in the snowy sugar woods, and pottery fits gracefully in my moments of space and quiet. And as a result, nature impacts my art quite a lot. Whether its as obvious as a freehand botanical engraving on a mug, or as subtle as the curvature of a bowl, my pieces imitate the life all around me.”

What more is there to say except that I will be showing and selling Sara’s beautiful and functional ceramic at the Bedlam Farm Open House on October 6th and 7th in my School House Gallery.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had any ceramics for the Open House and I feel like Sara’s work, which  fits in perfectly, was worth waiting for.

    1. Hi Susie, Sara doesn’t have an online presence, but I’ll email her and see if she’s willing to sell her work through the mail. I’ll get back to you. Thanks for asking.
