Chickadee Baby Quilt

Chickadee Quilt

It didn’t take the birds long to come to the bird feeder.  The Chickadee’s were there the first day I put it out.  Today there was a male cardinal, a  tufted titmouse, a house sparrow, a woodpecker on the suet and more chickadee’s.

I watched a few chickadee’s fly back and forth from the lilac bush to the feeder and thought how much the quilt I was working on and the chickadees have similar colors.  So I decided to call the quilt Chickadee.

Even thought I took a picture of this quilt outside, the colors still aren’t quite accurate in the photo. I used a black and white cat print for the back.  I’ll tack the quilt with gray yarn tomorrow.

  1. For a second, I thought “Picasso”. (In the very best way) Your quilt is so well balanced. When you look at it, you can see each piece, but then the “whole” comes through. Does that even make sense?

    1. It does make sense Deb. And it’s something I intuitively think about when I’m making a quilt. I try to keep it balanced but not in a classical way. It’s my own sense of random balance. I appreciate your writing to let me know what you thought.
