Fate and Kim, Not A Standoff

I know this looks like Fate and Kim are having a standoff, but really all Kim has to do is lower her head or stomp her foot and Fate will get up and run in the other direction.

For the past few days, I’ve been opening the gate to the back pasture, when I take a walk in the woods with Fate, and letting the sheep and donkeys graze  there.  Then, when we come back from our walk, the animals follow me out of the pasture, knowing I’m going to be feeding them.

How do they know I’m going to feed them ?

I’m not sure, but I think it’s because it’s close to feeding time and they do have their natural clocks.  I don’t know how that works either, maybe it has to do with the sunlight, but somewhere between 2:30-3pm the donkeys start braying for hay.

Today, for some reason, the sheep weren’t as eager to leave the pasture, and Kim, who is not a natural leader, was debating whether to stay behind with the sheep or follow me and the donkeys.

Eventually, the sheep all decided to leave the pasture, with Fate circling  around them, as if she had something to do with it.
