Well, I did it. I made the pink pantaloons and they look pretty good.
I may have made them a little too short, I’ve think they’re supposed to almost drag on the ground when dancing, but this way I don’t have to worry about tripping over them.
Jon asked if he could take a picture of me and I wanted one for my blog too, but I hate posing for photos. He took a couple of pictures, and I just looked frumpy in them. Mostly because I hate posing for pictures and it shows.
But then I remember the thing that got me to want to bellydance in the first place. It was the attitude the women had who were dancing. I think of it as a “fuck you” attitude. Or “Here I am and I look great and I don’t give a shit what you think” attitude.
That’s the funny look on my face in the picture. Me saying fuck you, trying to get in the spirit of it all.
Now I have to learn to say it with just my body or at least to myself, instead of out loud.
The Frazer family motto:
You come here often?
You give a shit what these people think?
Shine on, sister, shine on.
Love it Mary Jean!
