  1. What a treat to see baby birds in a nest! A gentle reminder of Spring, renewal and hope. Of course it’s almost summer now. I hope Flo doesn’t find a way to get up there! Looking forward to the next baby bird video.

    1. I’ve seen the barn swallows chase both cats through the yard. They are so protective, I don’t think it’s worth it for the cats.

  2. Oh how I miss the Barn Swallows. When I had oxen one of my favorite times was watching the mother swallows come back each year and add a little more height to their nest from the previous year. I always said they were building a condominium. All the activity in “their “ barn never concerned them until the day the babies started to fly. They were beyond protective and dove very close whenever we would walk in the barn. They are small but mighty when it comes to protecting their babies. The babies would practice flying the rafters and then return to the nest for the night. That would take place for a couple of days and then they would be gone. I loved the process and talking to the Mom and then the babies. I looked forward to them each year. Yes, I miss the Barn Swallows so your story brought back a special memory. Thank you for the smile you gave me today.

    1. Pat, thank you so much for your barn swallow story. You were obviously very close to them, knowing their story so well. I’m so glad to have been able to evoke your story.
