Jon and I made a new podcast today called Luck Versus Work, you can listen to it here.
We started thinking about the idea of luck when someone wrote to Jon and said he was lucky to have the life he does. That got us talking about how we made a conscious choice to create and work for the life we have. I feel grateful for my life and feel fortunate to have it, but I’m not sure how much luck has to do with it.
The definition of luck is “success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one’s own actions.”
I don’t claim to have complete control over my life, but I don’t believe that luck has more to do with my life I have than I do. That’s handing over too much responsibility to an unknown force than I’m comfortable with.
In the podcast, Jon and I also talk about a few things too, including Fate and her therapy work, our new puppy, and Zelda our old sheep.
