I finished and was finally able to get some good photos of my Crossing To Safety Potholders.
I named them after the book by William Stegner. I have to admit I’m feeling kind of protective of them. A part of me wants to keep them all safe with me. But, of course, that’s now why I make my art. I make it to connect to other people. I make it so it can go out into the world and do its work.
I see these potholders, with their house-like shapes as simple drawings in fabric. Each with its own story to tell.
Even the flowers are awkward and odd. They are all like the misfits of the world finding their place. They are me, many of the people I know and I’m sure many of the people reading this.
My Crossing to Safety Potholders are $20 each and it $5 shipping for one or more. I have eight for sale and you can see them all and buy them in my Etsy Shop, just click here.
Here’s a few close up….

Maria, These are just simply delicious. I love your colorful and creative work. Lots of fun. And look at Fate’s precious little face in the background. Have a lovely day.
With love,
Wendy
Thanks Wendy, I love the description of my potholders being “delicious.” I know just what you mean too. 🙂
