As we talked about on our podcast yesterday, Jon has been redesigning our fish tank.
He made these Richard Serra-like sculptures, that the snails are climbing up and the fish are swimming through. These rock configurations make the negative space as noticeable and important as the positive space. And the curved edge of the ceramic pot is the perfect juxtaposition to the hard flat surface of the rocks.
Also, the blue glaze brings out the colors of the fish even more.
I wonder what the fish think when we rearrange the tank. Do they try to make sense of their changed world or do they just go along exploring the newness of it?
