Looking Into Spring Time

The rain was so slight, so fine I didn’t feel it on my bare head.

But I could see it, against the dark reds, greens, browns, and yellows of the thick twiggy growth in the marsh. It was like being inside a cloud.

And not only did the brush of the marsh allow me to see the rain, that mist showed me the beauty of brush for the first time.

There’s so little color this time of year, yet I found that peering into those spindly bushes was like looking into springtime.
