The Swamp Speaks, A Thirty Second Meditation

From a distance, peepers sound like a steady chime to me.

But as I get closer to the ponds and swamps they live in, I can hear all the many different sounds and songs they actually make. Listening to them is like looking at a snowy landscape and seeing not just white, but all the shades, hues, tones, and colors within it.

Yesterday, while walking in the woods with Fate and Zinnia, there was one small swamp where the frogs were making themselves known.  Usually when I get close to where the peepers are they quiet down, but not yesterday.
