Fate and I went for a walk in the woods today looking for wildflowers (well I was looking for wildflowers). On the way back we visited the old Shagbark Hickory.

When I saw the hole in this tree it reminds me of the one in front of our library, we have a family of squirrels that live in it. It is hollow and the city is talking about cutting it down, it makes me sad to think that the dear tree might be taken down. It is a beautiful old tree and provides lot of shade for us and is home for the squirrels.
Oh I hope they don’t cut your tree down Marsha.
