“It’s a mess,” I told Emily, ” but I wrote your address on the back and put it in the mail today.”
It was a small collage that I started two weeks ago, maybe 4×6 inches. I actually forgot about it but found it when I pulled out my collage materials last week. When I saw it, it seemed the perfect size and at just the right stage to hand off to Emily.
We decided to do some mail art, where I start a collage and put it in the mail and she finishes it a couple of weeks ago.
Emily’s been making collage’s for a long time, I know she’ll make some sense of it. And I know it will be completely different than what I would have done. That’s part of the fun. I can’t wait to see what she does with it.

I used to do collaborative art projects with my friend Loretta.
It was always fascinating to watch them evolve with input from each of us.
I’ve only collaborated with one other friend Debbie, and I enjoyed it.
