The wind was blowing so hard every time I hung one of the potholders on the big old maple tree behind my studio to take a picture they blew off.
But the colors looked just as good on the new bed of leaves that the same tree has already dropped. As I squatted over one, framing it to post in my Etsy Shop, a big branch fell from the tree grazing my shoulder.
I looked up to see if there were any more dead branches ready to come down, then picked up my potholders and headed for my studio.
I love my potholders, but I’m not ready to die for them.
Later, when the wind quieted down, I laid the potholders on the fallen branch and took their picture.
These are some of the potholders I made from the brown, yellow and black scraps of fabric that Crik sent me. The scraps were her grandmothers from the 1960s and 70s.
You can see and buy all my Grandma’s Scraps Potholders in my Etsy Shop. They’re $20 each + $5 shipping for one or more. Just click here.
