Chicks Quilt, Almost Done

I finished designing my Chicks quilt today.  After using up all the gray, white and red fabric, it needed a border of red….

I found the perfect gray fabric to add to the bottom and sides of the quilt in the box of fabric from Crick. I also added some fabric samples that I had in my stash.

I’m looking forward to backing and tacking it next week.

  1. Maria, This quilt is amazing! Great job! I have several quilts from my grandparents; my grandma made me a “Flower Garden” quilt, like the one on your clothesline in Jon’s post this week – did you make it? Grandma used scraps from old dresses I had worn in the past for mine. Very special. In addition, my most special quilt was made by my great-great grandmother and signed, in thread, by her, by her daughter my great grandmother, by my grandmother and her sisters (my great aunts). It is well over 100 years old.

    1. Oh that is a wonderful quilt to have with all those generations of women Beth. It tells such a story and history. It’s a treasure.
I didn’t make the quilt on the line Beth. It was given to me by a woman whose grandmother made it, she told me it was made in the late 1800’s.
