Five Years Of Monday Morning Videos

I couldn’t tell you what made me look, but for some reason this morning I wondered how long I’ve actually been taking my Monday Morning Videos.

So I did a search on my blog and was pretty surprised and excited when I found my first  Monday Morning Video and it was on November 30, 2015.

I never expected that I’d been making these videos, every Monday for five years.  And I certainly had no idea that I made my first video on November 30th.

I was surprised at the small format of the video and how poor the quality was.  I’m not sure if I was still using my ipod to take videos back then, but it sure looks like it.

I do remember that my idea was to take a Monday Morning Video for one year.  I was interested in having a constant, which is morning feeding of the animals, and show how it and the seasons changed around it.

I think I was successful at this, I just never stopped.

I do hope my Monday Morning Videos have evolved but as you can see, the format hasn’t really changed much.

I’m not into nostalgia, but I did enjoy seeing Chloe and Red again.  (I wanted to kiss Chloe’s nose) And I’d almost forgotten about the gray hen.

In a way, the video feels like it was made thirty years ago, not just five.

  1. I’m so grateful for your five years of Monday Morning Videos, Maria! They’ve brought me lots of peace, joy and smiles every Monday morning as I wake with my morning coffee. It’s a ritual, and if I can say, spiritual!

    Thank you, thank you!

    1. Oh Kim, it makes me feel so good to know that people have been watching and some for all those years. It’s doing for you just what I’d hope it would. Thanks for letting me know.

  3. Wow, five years already? I remember when you first announced you’d be doing these. They are truly a highlight of my Monday’s. They make me feel connected to what really matters. I’ll likely never have a little farm like yours for various reasons, but I’m so grateful you share the animals with us in this way. It really warms my heart and touches me.

    1. Oh Barb, I love to hear that you’ve been following them all along and they have such meaning for you. I was just feeling grateful for our farm and animals today. There’s a light snow and it makes it even more sweet somehow.
