I saw them out of the side of my eye as I sat at my computer in my studio. Three intensely red cardinals sitting on the ground outside my window. As I got up to get a better look at them they flew away.
It’s a cold gray day, the wind blowing a smattering of snowflakes around. But seeing those red cardinals lifted my spirits and warmed me up.
Immediately I thought of Suzy’s latest shawl. It seemed a premonition of what I saw out my window, that autumn gray fired up by the cardinal red stripe.
Suzy hand-spins and hand-knits her shawls. Each is unique in its mix of colors and patterns. I do love the lacy edge on this one and how the red and gray together enhance it.
Suzy’s shawls are as warm and soft as they look. They are made from the wool of Suzy’s mohair goats and wool from her favorite fiber artists. Each one is also washed in a natural softening solution.
This is the last shawl of Suzy’s that I’ll be selling before Christmas. She’s thinking of making more after the holidays so I may be selling more of Suzy’s Shawls throughout the winter.
