The hens stopped laying some time in late summer. Yesterday White Hen was eating the remains of an egg with a shell so soft, the insides spilled out of it.
But today I found an egg in the nesting box in the coop. It’s a bit flat on one side, but it’s whole with a hard shell and ready to be cooked for tomorrow’s breakfast.
Eggs-ellent!
🙂
That first egg of spring is just wonderful, always really EGGciting!!!!! Sorry, couldn’t help myself – I heard the first Spring Peeper frogs of the year near our pond last night, that always gives me a great feeling too.
Oh I’ve been waiting to hear the peepers Hannah! And your pun made me smile.
