It’s one of those good apple years. The animals are plucking the ones they can reach. And one branch on the tree in the barnyard has already snapped from the weight of apples.
Most of our trees are crabapples, but I have a feeling I’ll be making some applesauce from the fruit on the old macintosh tree in the yard.
That is an awesome apple crop!
Wow! You do have a lot of apples on your tree. We had a bumper crop last year and I made an abundance of apple pie filling and applesauce. I am glad that I did, because this year we don’t have many on the tree.
It does seem to go that way Marsah, a slow year after a bountiful one.
Maria, just think of all the raking and clean up of the apples you won’t have to do! These rascals will devour them for you.
Right!
Yum-yum apple sauce, I hope you get to pick some before the animals do. The tree looks luscious, I miss all my fruit trees.
A very good year for you Maria.
I think I’ll wait for the apple from the Macintosh to be bigger. Seems there’s plenty of those too.
A quick search shows that there are crab apple recipes.
hmmm, It seems like someone out there knows of one. Anyone have a crab apple jam recipe?
