Checker Board

Such a strange day today. I couldn’t get going.  I quickly lost interest in everything I tried to work on.  Nothing worked.

I finally gave up, and accepted that I wasn’t going to be getting anything done today.  That’s when I just started playing around with the fabric that was on my work table and floor.

Which is how the flour sack and small  2″ squares of fabric with African designs ended up together.  I kept playing.  The squares stayed and the fabric under them kept changing.

This is what happened….

I think one of these will be the beginning of a new quilt.  I have a good idea which one it will be and why, but I’m going to leave it be for the weekend and see if I feel the same on Monday.

  1. I love the one with the red background, it is stunning. I am not a red lover but that piece is eye catching.

  2. Ooooh! Almost all of them would be stunning with irregular black sashing. Why choose just one after doing all that piecing.

  3. WOW! That’s a lot of busy-ness! I know which one I would pick, I can’t wait to see what Monday brings!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
