I sent Jan some scraps of fabric when she told me that her granddaughter Izzy was coming for a visit and they were going to sew together. Jan bought Izzy a couple of my potholders to hang in her room and Izzy liked them so much she started collecting them.
When I opened the package that Jan sent with Izzy’s art I was touched. But also impressed. Izzy made a piece of her own fabric then used some of the fabric I sent to finish the piece off.
I’m inspired by Izzy’s use of color and design. I find myself mesmerized by her blocks of color. It’s a language I understand.
Izzy’s art is now hanging in my studio where I can see when I’m working and continue to be inspired by it.
