When Cheryl sent me this photo of my fabric painting A Forest In My Livingroom, hanging in her home, I was a little stunned.
I kept seeing the woodwork in her room as trees. The color is so close to the color of the tree in my fabric painting. And then the chair and rug, though not the same as in “Forest”, is speaking the same language. Also the open doorways and distant window, that movement of space, it adds to the illusion of the fabric painting.
Perhaps this is one of the reasons Cheryl was drawn to the piece.
Or, who knows, maybe there’s a tree growing out of sight, just down that hallway.
