Square Of Scraps

I had a bunch of shipping to do this morning, thanks to everyone who bought my Sheep Potholders, they sold out quickly. But since it’s a holiday and the post office was closed, I took the opportunity to work in my studio instead.

I worked on the round potholders I’m making for Liz and got most of them done before going with Jon to his Doctor’s appointment.

When I got back, I looked at all the scraps of fabric on my work table that I hadn’t used and began sewing them together. My thoughts went no further than the piece of fabric I was sewing at the moment.

I was doing it because I didn’t want to put the fabric back in my scrap bin.  I was doing it because it felt good.

When I look at this 20″x20″ square there are parts that I really like.  Maybe I’ll cut them out and use them somehow.   Or maybe I’ll just keep adding to it and see where it goes.

I might get into my studio tomorrow and put it aside to use another time.

But whatever I choose to do with this square of scraps doesn’t matter as much as the fact that it was just what I needed to be doing this evening, after being away from my studio for so long.

  1. Oh I love it! It’s like a celebration of all your various projects, each little spot has its story to tell. All the little pops of color and prints all over.
    Lovely.
