I just took pictures of my wool outside on the front porch. I’ve found that when I put the wool on a piece of muslin and take a picture out of direct sunlight, I get the most accurate colors.
I carried the skeins of wool in a basket with a woven leather strap. As I was walking back into the house, I had the basket on my arm and my new iPhone 13 in my hand. The camera was still open and when I looked down I watched as it started to focus on the handle of the basket. Suddenly I was looking at the handle as if I had my macro lens on my iPhone.
That’s when I realized that this is how the new macro lens on my iPhone works.
Unlike the Moment macro lens that I have to attach to my phone, all I have to do with my new iPhone is get close to whatever I want to take a photo of and let the camera adjust the focus.
I’m not sure yet if this new macro lens on my phone is as good as my Moment macro lens. I ordered an attachment so I can use the Moment lenses on my new iPhone so I’ll be able to compare them once it comes.
I didn’t get to do a lot of experimenting with the new macro lens yet, I was busy sorting out my wool. But that will come in the next few days.
I think this is an good example of how I learn. I’m not good at reading manuals and instructions, but I am good at learning by doing. Even if it may take longer, it works for me.
