It’s been a long time since Jon was out in the side pasture throwing the ball for Zinnia. I see his being out there another sign of spring. If it wasn’t the snow that kept him out it was the ice.
Fate looked on longingly as she does when Zinnia gets to chase the ball and she’s on the other side of the fence. But she just came back from a walk in the woods, so I didn’t feel too bad for her.
Every time Jon threw the ball for Zinnia, Fate ran the length of the fence as if she might get the ball too. Then she’d be right back at the gate, waiting for Jon to throw the ball again.
